The easiest way to reach us is by flying into Chania International Airport (CHQ) - it’s the closest airport to our wedding location and just a short cab ride from the town.
If you’d prefer to save a little, there’s also a local bus from the airport to Chania Old Town that’s reliable and budget-friendly.
For those renting a car, it’s a great opportunity to explore the wider island of Crete - from stunning beaches and mountain villages to hidden tavernas and scenic coastal drives.
We recommend staying near Chania Old Town - especially around the harbour and port area, which offers gorgeous sea views, charming cobbled streets, and plenty to explore.
There are lovely boutique hotels, villas, and apartments, many with rooftop terraces and sea-view balconies. The Chania Flair Boutique Hotel (where our Friday welcome drinks will be held) is a great option to base yourself nearby if you want to continue the night after the Friday night festivities.
If you have the time, we’d highly recommend extending your trip to make the most of everything Crete has to offer - from beach days and wine tasting to sunset dinners overlooking the Aegean.
May in Crete is pretty much the dream: warm, golden and breezy in all the right ways. Our ceremony begins later in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Everything will take place outdoors, with gentle sea breezes.
Daytime: Temperatures usually sit in the low 20s to high 20s°C (70s to mid 80s°F). It is sunny, bright and perfect for exploring Chania or relaxing by the water.
Evenings: Mild and comfortable, although a light jacket or wrap is helpful once the sun sets and the breeze picks up.
The wedding style is all about romantic island elegance with a hint of timeless Greek charm. Imagine soft Mediterranean tones, candlelit tables and Chania’s historic beauty all around you. If you have ever dreamed of stepping into a scene from Mamma Mia (without the surprise dads)!
We are so grateful that you’re travelling all the way to Greece to celebrate with us, your presence truly means the world.
We’re not expecting gifts, but if you’d like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, we’d be very appreciative.
Either way, just bring yourselves, your dancing shoes, and your best moves.
